Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. NST incorporates myofascial release (MFR) to separate adhesed connective tissue, trigger point therapy to help knots break loose, muscle energy techniques (MET’s) to relieve muscle spasms, and cyriax cross fiber friction to realign muscle tissue to its proper state. Appropriate and skillful application of these techniques are designed to treat common soft tissue conditions. A consideration of posture, lifestyle habits, or past injuries are taken into account when addressing concerns and treatment plan for the client.
